Mini and Micro Scottish Highland

Caring for a Mini or Mirco Highland

Miniature and Mirco cattle are great for small acreages. They can be anywhere from 1/2 or even 1/3 the size of standard cattle, so therefore, they require less feed and land. We encourage rationing one miniature cow per ½ to 1-acre grass with good quality hay during the winter months.

Mini Scottish Highlands are a very hardy breed of cattle that can withstand harsh cold temperatures in the winter and hot temperatures in the summer with adequate shade and water. They tend to be docile and calm, especially the more you work with and handle them; most of our cattle are halter-broke, so they are ready for your family.

Micro Highlands will stay around 36 inches or shorter at the hip. Miniatures will remain between 36-42 inches.
